There are some undermount units out there from Cubs I believe. I think they were 5' though. I don't really recall your frankie, but do you have much height under there? Flails are kinda tall by nature.

I have 14" to the bottom of the frame on the Bride . What is the swing diameter of the knives on those smaller units ?? Any idea on the rpm of those things , I am guessing it must be 1500 -2500 rpm to have the tip speed needed to chop chop .

@eugen We are crossing paths today. Got a help-911 call about noon yesterday for a special purpose dial indicator. There is one on flea bay that will take over 2 weeks to arrive. 8 hours were spent reverse engineering the indicator and adaptor. The adaptor has to have a spring load of 1Kg. Princess has bags of assorted springs. Out of 4 bags one spring was perfect but with store pickup then sorting and testing spring loads took 3 hours. 2 hours was spent cross referencing the indicator as the original is no longer in production. There was only one indicator stocked and available in Ontario, and 20 minutes away. We got lucky on that one.

The adaptor will be ready for pickup at 1 then a rush trip to Big Smoke for delivery. If all goes well the machine installation team can start testing this evening and will head back to Turkey next week.

Last night I broke my k321 governor spring. Just saying this because you mentioned springs :D

@eugen I started with this picture supplied by the installer. From it the make and model number of the dial indicator was readable. Once the stroke and anvil length were known along with the drawing that was supplied then adaptor could be machined. The drawing supplied said "Spring". Sifting through a few pictures was one in Turkish that gave the

spring as 1KG. The springs purchased at Princess came in 100 per bag.

Out of 400 springs only one was perfect. By pairing up a few springs there were a few more that might have worked by adding spacers between them. I had hoped the machining would be completed by 10. At 10 the machinest called and said ready for pickup at 1. The machinist then forgot about the job and at 1 oclock was still an 1-1/2 hours from completion and said he would have it completed by 3:30. An angry face must have gotten his attention and sitting in my truck outside his door might have helped. At 2:30 when the adaptor was finished Google maps popped up that east bound 401 was closed due to an accident. The 1 hour drive turned into 2 and the adaptor and indicator were delivered at 4:30.
