Re: Pictures: this moment
So the JD has black finish on the hydraulic cylinders rods. How fancy is that?
@JSinMO yeah, it'll be interesting to compare the two backhoes. The D100 has bigger hydraulic cylinders all around, and is a tiny bit longer too. The JD backhoe has a bigger tractor behind it and is brand new, all joystick controls. If I get the D100 functional I expect it'll get the job done just as well. This new device is nice, but it doesn't fit me well.

The D100 is really too much hoe for our 6xx series in my opinion. The JD probably is sized better for it's tractor. I find I have to really take it easy with the Case. IT's great to have the power, but without more weight to hold it on the ground, it's kinda hard to be able to actually apply it. On the other hand, we can't hurt the d100. I've seen more modern, correctly sized machine with broken booms. Us, we just break the tractor frames...
Interesting with the black rods... Black chrome? Anodized stainless? Be interested in the durability of that... We know a good chrome rod lasts ages.
Edit: Just looked... Black Nitride. Apparently they're looking at 3x the durability of hard chrome. I've got black nitride coating on a welding setup bench at work, and it has been great as far as durability. Always something new to learn I guess.

Regarding the hoe on the JD, it was out of oomph several times, once not able to lift/break a lateral going tree root about 1-1/8 inch thick. It also didn't tip the tractor, so I had thoughts similar to yours, that they made it so it won't break the tractor. It's also quite slow moving as compared to the 644 loader. No doubt, by design. It felt safer in the sense that I didn't have to pay much attention to where it's going, as I felt confident I could stop it in time. Perhaps it's more a-tuned to gen ZToolslinger wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 8:16 am The D100 is really too much hoe for our 6xx series in my opinion. The JD probably is sized better for it's tractor. But boy, power steering and 4x4 is so smooth. I need to forget it!

Re: Pictures: this moment
Spent part of the day with my daughters softball coaches Sunday out on the softball field. The little league infield was looking horrible. Lots and lots of weed overgrowth. Brought one of my tractors to the field for some work. I forgot to take a before pic of the field as always. It's not done yet, but it's in way better shape than it ever has. Last known tractor to groom the infield was 15 years ago. The girls have practice tonight and we will be at it again after practice.

Jancoe nice work. I’m sure the kids appreciate it. Your the Caseman super hero. Harry

Got towed home today, from Toronto. This starter decided to quit.

Was driving by and my cousin was getting my uncle's tractor ready to mow. This is an Eastman made tractor.
let's go, it's finally time to blow.
