Belt stretch

Post by Harry »

My 646 lbh starter generator quit last week. I took it over to my generator starter rebuild shop. He replaced the bearings and brushes. The thing I like about this shop it is an old school shop and the guy works all by himself. He always shows me the old parts he removed and usually the turn around is two days at the most. I put the starter generator back on and noticed the belt which was from a Case dealer had stretched so the adjustment was out all the way. The belt was purchased about five yesrs ago when I purchased this machine. At first I thought I could make a longer bracket to give more adjustment but the loader hydraulic cylinder is in the way. I had a can of belt dressing so I gave it a few blasts of it and the belt stopped slipping. I guess they don’t make them like they use to. :hm: :106: :peace: Harry
