Little more done today on the birch tree. It is slowly getting shorter. Just the big trunk to do now. Not sure how long it is. But it’s about 20” to 24” in diameter.

Son and grandson picked up the wood, this evening, I cut off the birch tree today. That’s a great help.

It goes over some rough terrain Tim. Grandson not easy on it. I’m surprised it still works. Was 6 volt and single wheel rear drive. Hardly go any where with it. Son rigged it up to 18 volt batteries and made it positive traction. Both rear wheels driving. She goes now. Hehe.

Birch trunk all cut up today. And once I got the truck off noticed the maple trees started going back up. Root was almost up at 90 degrees, now after a few hours it back down to about 30 degrees. I doubt the maple trees will stand up straight, but as things settle more and they start to grow, they may not be to bad.
Trunk measured at 21”. Could not count the rings couldn’t see them. Tree was trying to supply water to its self. Was just a dripping at the last cut. Each round I figured about 175 lbs. Internet calculator. Just a guess.
Don’t know about the apple tree. It really didn’t move after I got the birch off it. Have to wait and see.
On to the rest next week. Smaller and lower to the ground thankfully.

I have a few Boxelders like that to do. But started small with the lilacs and honeysuckles that busted off in the wet sticky snows, most of it went threw the chipper and got spread on the flower beds.

There now. All cut up into bite size pieces. Hehe. Well at least now I should be able to pick them up. Maybe. Loose a lot of wood in sawdust.
Straps I put on the maple trees yesterday were loose a bit this morning. And have retightened them again. Apple tree strap not moving much.

Every thing hurts Eugen. Hehe. Im not young like you. Hehe.
I’m gunna be sore tomorrow morning.
Apple tree tomorrow. 100 years old I figure or so, planted by grandfather I’m guessing. He built a house 102/103 years ago. Lot of apple pies off this tree over the years. Sad to see it go. Thanks hurricane Fiona. :cuss:
