Thankfully I mark stuff !

Post by propane1 »

So when I find it, I know what it is. Hehe So I try to mark things as I put them away for the season or an extended period of time. Having a dozen tractors and on average two or more attachments for each tractor, having things marked is a major help. But, you still have to find the place where you put the thing your looking for to look at the marking. Any way, it has helped over the years with marking thing as to what they are for. Finding is another story.
So I am hoping to take the snow caster off the Case 224 and put the mowing deck on tomorrow, in the :cuss: snow storm that’s coming.
Went looking for the mule drive, not hard to find it. Normally I attach the drive belt to it, but no. I was not sort of normal that day when I put the mule drive and belt away last fall. No belt. So next place I would put it would be in this cabinet. Opened up the door and saw this. Ya. This should be fun. But figured it should be close to find because it only went int there last fall and I don’t go in that cabinet that often. So sure enough after a couple of minutes I found it. Lucky it was labeled.
So all set now hopefully. And see what happens tomorrow. 15cm to 20cm of wet snow coming. Maybe more on Sunday.

Quite a ramble there.

Glad you found all the parts! I’ve gone searching for stuff several times. I look where it should be, or where I think I would have put it and it’s not there. When I eventually find whatever it is I’m looking for, I suddenly remember putting it there and thinking I’ll always know where this is!

Sometimes I aggravate the heck out of myself! :headbash:

Lately I’ve been using small tags with wires to tag parts with what they fit. Belts especially with different GT’s and different attachments. I’ve been storing them in a old wooden file cabinet. :peace: Harry

Me Three... The more I tidy up and purge 30 yrs of misc "stuff" the harder it gets to find things - think my brain is getting overloaded with all the new "reorganized" piles of "treasures"
:wife: words sound a lot more like "piles of junk"

I think you posted when you put them away and how you mark them with masking tape. I thought it was a good idea because I have many belts and Spring and Winter I did the usual dance of putting one on, taking it off because it didn't fit well. So when I took off the mower belt I marked it like you and come Spring it'll be easier than before. So, there, @propane1 , you already helped a poor guy, thank you!

As for trying to find stuff and not being able to... that is just normal for me. Sometimes I look for something for days and can't find it. It is what it is I guess. :hitsfan:

Well got the mower deck on just in time for the snow storm coming tonite. :giggle:
Had it out for a test run. All works good. No grass to cut. But had it blowing some of the old dead grass around.

Noel , Maybe you could use it for cutting you snow banks down and spreading on the driveway to melt faster . :giggle:
