I'm guilty

I'm sorry that I don't get back and answer posts that I originally create asking questions. Case in point; I asked a question about a starter on an Onan last week. I followed Davids's suggestions, but never got back to thanking or posting my findings.
I charged the battery first and it would not crank the engine.
I hooked up battery cables from a car battery to the starter directly and ground on the engine block. It immediately cranked over with no problem. So no problem with the starter!
I then hooked the cables to the starter at the starter relay and the engine block. It cranked no problem, so the battery cable between the starter is good.
Changed the cables to the positive battery terminal and the negative battery terminal and it cranked good again. So, all the cables are good, and the battery does not have enough cold cranking amps.
Thanks, David, for your help. I will try to more diligent in the future in responding.

All is good @Harry . Just glad I could help and it was not the starter . I know what those are like to do on an Onan .

On this Onan I cut out the blower housing and tabbed the cutout. Then I screwed in back on the housing, so I have easy access to the starter bolts. I try to remember to take a pic later today.

I put my hand there and found very little air loss. Thie tractor is used only in the Winter to remove snow.
