I'll have to spend a little time looking for some tractor weights. There is usually Case weights for sale locally, but as usual, when you need some you can't find any.

If you have a tractor salvage yard around, Look for JD combine weights for the steering tires. They are made for 16" rims, and come in outer solid weights or inner split weights to fit around the spindle. I have a set of inners, each half is 52 pounds so 104 pounds per tire plus some for nuts and bolts. And mount to the outside of my rims perfectly. I forget but think someone said the outers were 150 or 160 pounds.Now if a guy were lucky enough to find both inner and outer

I am that lucky guy, found both the inner and outer combine weights. And they are great! The outer weights are 162 lbs per piece. The JD part numbers for them are:

I called a salvage yard that had a various combines and asked them about these parts numbers. Turns out they had one JD combine with the full set of inner and outer weights. They fit the 400 series rim perfectly. But it was a long drive for me to get them, more than 3 hours one way. I still kick myself for not asking to buy the combine wheels as well. They were 16" diameter, regular 6 bolt pattern, but they had some giant AG tires on them. Oh how nice it would have looked on my 444!!!

However, when I go anywhere far I look to see if there's any salvage yard on my way, so that I ask about the combine weights.

For anyone with a three point hitch, it sure is hard to beat concrete. $50 in materials delivers 300 lbs of counterweight that's clean looking and about effortless to install and remove.

The box pictured will hold up to 420 lbs of concrete. (7 bags at 60 lbs each.)
If you build it 20 inches high, it'll hold 8 full bags, your choice.

I chose to fill it to 5 bags, 300 lbs of dry concrete, plus a bit of retained moisture plus the steel, makes it right about 325 lbs of counterweight.
