In this warmer weather I like to eat my breakfast outside on the back patio. Watch the purple martins flying their acrobatics and maybe catch a rabbit eating some grass. This morning between bites I looked up and saw a deer pop its head out of the woods and something walking behind it. It was so small it appeared to be a small dog, but was a fawn. It was so small and trying to catch up to momma it could hardly walk which looked like it was galloping. I got my wife’s attention and she saw it but before I could grab my phone to get a pic they were gone. This is a sight I’ve never seen, a fawn that small that could hardly walk. Sorry no pics. Harry

I just put down my phone took a sip of coffee and a coyote appeared following the same trail as the deer. It was sauntering along with its nose to the ground looking my way then back on the trail. That poor little fawn won’t have a chance unless momma can fend it off. Sorry no pic again. It happened to fast. Harry

About fifteen minutes later a deer came back and forth a few times looking around then left. Maybe the coyote grabbed the fawn and took off with it to feed its newborns. I ‘ll check my trail cam and see if it picked up any pics. Harry

Helped a neighbour out, he has this lot and didn't get a chance to come from the city to mow it. Tall and thick grass. The 224 which I have out for sale could get it done, but I ran out of gas with it only partly finished.


So have a look at this wasp. Never seen one this thick and long. It was in the shed.

That's a lot of grass. Go back over the grass in a day or so after it dries out. IMO it's easier on your tractor. As I learned today properly sharpened blades make a big difference. I hadn't been making my blades sharp enough.

Why didn't his mower last?

Local farmer that used to own the land our neighborhood was built on cuts the small field in our neighborhood for hay twice a year. He's also got attachments for raking and bailing the hay. This attachment hydraulically raises and lowers.
My girls wanted to check out the tractor. I did back them up about 20' when he got near us.
