Just goes to prove that any idiot can get a drives licence , but only the smart ones stay out of the ditch in winter .

I had a set of Bridgestone blizzak snow tires on a small sedan years ago. They were great. I wouldn't even shovel the car out. If it actually snowed a lot consistantly where I live, I'd get another set.

Several days in the mid 40's here. Snow in the lawn is gone.

We haven't had much snow so far this year. Last night we got 5-6" of heavy wet snow. Probably more than all other storms combined.

I had an issue with the snowcaster sort if rattling/vibrating as I pushed it. I made a quick attempt to raise the blower by lowering the Berco skid shoes but it didn't help. Problem goes away when I pick up the snowcaster 1/4" or so. When it thaws out I'll do a better job at raising the snowblower. I don't think I checked the scraper bar this year.

Well looks like our winter thaw is over :33:
I don’t think this is going to amount to much this time maybe 4 or 5 inch’s, but there saying some nasty weather is supposed to come in over the weekend. Cold rain turning to more snow. :33:
Come on spring!

I woke up this morning to the sound of freezing rain hitting the back bedroom wall. So on top of the mess I already have more water freezing and this going to be followed up with snow this evening and as Gerry mentioned more snow this weekend. I think this is worst than a blizzard. :112: :33: :peace: Harry

We ended up with 8+ inches of snow last night - 8" in the backyard... a lot more on the front of the house - especially the sidewalk with the bonus of 4 lanes worth of snow added by the city snow plows. :pullhair:
PXL_20250213_141856752.jpg
Maxine got stuck a couple of times in the backyard - just not enough ground clearance...

And then there is the hill to get out of the yard and up to street level
PXL_20250213_180625041.jpg
Made multiple tries going up and down, back dragging to try and find some traction - just couldn't make it the last 6 feet :headbash:

Finally gave up and tried to figure out how to get more weight on the rear axle :hm: - remembered I had a cargo carrier from the Ford - dug it out of a snowbank and plugged it into the receiver on the back of Maxine... added 2 pails of RV antifreeze (intended for the 644 - but decided to wait until I get new tires)

Worked like a charm (sort of) :109: - the weight is too far back and lightens up the front end giving really squirrelly steering :O

Necessity is the mother of invention . Trying new ideas is the mother of adaptation. Gerry , nice to see you got to play in the snow .

Yesterday morning I started clearing snow at 7 am . Other than a couple of :coffee: breaks was non stop until 2:30 pm . Had to blow a track out to the highway so :wife: could get to work . She :wife: :whip: was already an hour late and the highways were plowed . :51: and I shovelled off the porch , and addition roofs (only 4/12 pitch where as the main roof is 12/12 pitch (good thing as it is the two story part ). We had to clear the tops of the chicken runs for fear of collapsing , Neighbour one full size farm type green house collapsed under the weight of the snow the other day . Thats going to be expensive repair .
This is the worst snow accumulation I have seen in the 13 year we have been here . Sorry not many pics. was just to busy and tired after . Here is one of my truck against one snow bank at the top driveway loop . Truck is 6 foot to roof .
20250213_145756.jpg
Once the snow banks get to 7 foot like here , I have to push the snow farther down and then blow . The caster works good , but just can not get the height and distance out of it . It is not for lack of hp, it never lugs down . Time to addapt a Berco 2 stage to it for next year I know they will through 30 feet if needed .
