Our "Ass per grass " did not come up this year for some reason . So last week I called one of my clients who is a local farmer . " let me know when your asparagus is ready" He calls today come over and pick as much as you want , it is coming in fast now . We pick some , and he says "is that all you want , we have tons go pick some more . So Jake and I did . At the end I asked how much $$, he said " ahh don't worry about it you always fix us up fast when our stuff breaks . We now have a the bottom of a 5 gallon pale with full all standing on then ends in water. Take a guess what we are having for supper tomorrow . They call me "Dave the fixer " It is good to have a good working relationship local farmers .

Depend on what we are having with it . and if it is fresh like this or frozen . Fresh is steamed or grilled on the Barby with garlic a such . In winter when we have the frozen ones, warmed up in the Nuclear Science Machine and served with Holidays sauce .

My mother use to make asparagus rolls. White bread with the crusts cut off, so the bread could roll, butter the bread, put sandwich spread on, then the asparagus, then roll up the bread and put a tooth pick in to hold it. Put them on a sheet pan and put them in the fridge. Let cool and holy cats, some good. Not hard to go thru the whole pan of them, if mother wasn’t looking. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Speaking of asparagus. Here’s our recipe for fresh. Brush with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, 400 degree oven for 10 minutes, enjoy.

Just made some on the BBQ, like you @JSinMO, except we sprinkle a little balsamic vinegar too.
