Brake Band Material
Does anyone know what can be used as brake band material on my '77 446? I know it's available online from various vendors but I was wondering if anyone knew of an over the counter alternative that I might be able to pick up at an auto parts or farm store? Thanks!

Not that I know of. McMaster Carr would be fastest way to get material. May have dealer local to you.Vivala446 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 4:10 pm Does anyone know what can be used as brake band material on my '77 446? @Vivala446 I picked up a piece of conveyor flat belt at a local industrial hose and belting supplier and glued it in place. It works like a champ.

I cut up an old car disk brake pad into the size I wanted and glued them in. So far so good.

Re: Brake Band Material
You can buy new ready to install kits from the dealers or some older farm equipment parts suppliers may have some in stock . Buying lining from suppliers usually means buying way more than you need and trying to piece it out to others , and then buying the glue .
