Dave, I'm looking forward to seeing it up and running. I'm going to ask a buddy of mine if he got any contactor big enough for your project. The two 10A contactors I have, in parallel, might just do. But you need some limit switches, that's for sure.

Dave I'm confused. Fumes from the milling?

Lol , No from cutting, grinding and welding . I have to do a lot of the cutting with a chop saw and a 7" grinder with cutting disk . The mill work is the clean bit .

How can you make sure the tractor doesn't fall down the middle if the wheels are not very stable like the front usually?

I am not quite sure what you are asking ,but the arms have locks to keep them from swinging out and the adapters are adjustable for a tight fit under the tire and if I feel the need I can put over tire straps .
Maybe when I have them finished and a tractor on them , pictures will be more self explanatory .

Nice job Dave. I was wondering if the hoist arms have locks. Straps over the tires is a good thing too. Can’t wait to see a tractor up on it.

And the rolling pin emoji is working great, when I saw Dave’s post I noticed the rolling pin emoji, even before I started reading, and knew the wife is mentioned. Hehe.

Nice Dave,
We have 4 lifts at work for lifting any heavy duty chassis. 18k lbs each. The lift uses the same idea you have built. They work great. Our lifts have a spring loaded pin to hold the adjustable arms in place. I'm sure you could drill a few holes in the tubing at 1" intervals and use a pin to lock the adjustable arm from sliding. That way you can adjust to fit different wheels. As long as the opening between the lift arms are smaller than the wheel diameter you don't have to worry about anything falling through.
