Done a thing
Well it was bound to happen . With all the down time I have had forced on me with my currant situation , I done gone and bought a hoist . I have been looking for some time but most were too expensive or wrong type . It is a Ford Smith , made here in Ontario. $1000 , and with adapters will pick up tractors by the wheels or frame and our vehicles for tire changes ect. My buddy will pick it up for me next week then I can arrange to have a tech come in and install it . It will help alot getting caught up when I get back on my feet . No more of this . Oh and ordered a couple of bump caps, so no more of this either . brothers

Re: Done a thing
My son and I put up a two post hoist in his garage almost two years ago now. My my, what a great thing to have. Made ramps for it to put garden tractors up on it too.

Re: Done a thing
My plan is to make adjustable wheel saddles and lift the tractors by the wheels . When I need to take heavy loaded wheels off I can lift it up set up on stands and then use the lift to remove the wheel . Dave

There was one for sale yesterday in Mississauga for $700. No money and nowhere to put it now

Re: Done a thing
Nice Lift, I wanted one but shop ceiling is too short. So I had to settle for this.
Table lift works very well but have a small jack setup that slides under tractor to remove wheels. Too old to get down and dirty any more. Like to set in chair and work on stuff. Doublet (Terry)

Those little table are great , But won't hold sub-compact tractors .Doublet wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 5:38 pm Nice Lift, I wanted one but shop ceiling is too short. So I had to settle for this.

I have the same problem with ceiling height . I will only be able to lift a max 46" but will be enough for what I need to do on a daily bases.

Hoists are a great thing. A few pictures of my son's.
Even got it set up to as a alignment machine for the garden tractors.

Re: Done a thing
I do a lot of mower deck work . Part of the plan is to be able to lift tractor to working height rolling a bench I have under lowering the deck onto it then raising the tractor out of the way while I roll out the bench and work on the deck at a decent height . Like others I just can't do the on the hands and knees much anymore .
