Power snow chute

Post by Spike188 »

Winter is almost over even if shall flurries are moving through.

So why not get a jump start on next winter and mount a golf caddy moter on the spout rotator.

$25 dollars bought the cart and charger. The charger may work as a trickle charger for case batteries. That needs a bit more research before attempting.

Looks good so far. Similar to how Berco does it. If you want I can post a few pics of Berco's chute rotator and deflector setup.

@MattA Seeing pictures of how the deflector is setup would be great.

I was surprised at how the deflector control is designed. A linear actuator would have been closer to what I pictured or something similar to a power seat drive.

Linear actuator is what I used on the 446 blower tractor project.

I'm not impressed with the Berco system considering it cost $300 back in 2019. The deflector works fine, speed is good. The chute rotator is painfully slow at 20+ seconds from side to side. The rotator screw drive jammed up during the last blizzard cleanup. Neither motor connector or the joystick box connector are water proof. The joystick box is semi potted (waterproof).
