Just for reference, Grainger sells 5/8" ID by 1" OD UHMW tubing. That would probably be less work to slice it to length but more expensive to purchase.

I looked it up Granger . A length of tubing 5/8 id 1 3/8 od 72" long is $126 + shipping +shipping
But it is good to know that is an option with other sizes down the road . Almost everything I work on has obsolete parts .
