This year's garden

It's ground engaging time. Seeds, manure, soil, and everything that goes with them. But that's not all. Cutting and hauling wood, chainsaws and the works!

Thanks guys . Most of it is doing really good but a few things like carrots, parsnips, didn't come up at all due to the 6 week dry spell in the spring we had . Now the biggest concern is rot if the rain doesn't stop. We are very sandy here , but the ground has not dried up in over 2 weeks now. What an upside down year .

That's right Dave, I'm worried my Fall garlic is going to rot, as I haven't had a chance to harvest. :( and we're looking at the rest of the week raining again.

Our few tomato plants are looking fine for now, but surely they'll suffer if it keeps going like this. I had a few potatoes and onions to still plant, but I'm beginning to give up hope on them. :sigh:

Look at the bright side, your garden is not only sandy soil, but on an incline too. That's a lot better than the swamp I'm in.

Eugene , that looks like a nice haul . What type of garlic did you plant ? I tried starting for seed I saved but that dry spell we had in the spring killed it off . I will try again next year and hope for the best .

Dave, I got garlic from a farmer in Stayner. Two years in a row now it grows strong. I previously tried store bought garlic and it was nothing like this. I plant it mid to late October. I'll give you his contact if you want.

Turns out that the 644 can do garden duty now that I can attach the plow and put a little weight on the wheels.

The plow still needs some more tuning though I could turn some soil and that always feels good! :smash:
