Vintage lawnboy

It's ground engaging time. Seeds, manure, soil, and everything that goes with them. But that's not all. Cutting and hauling wood, chainsaws and the works!

I really don't know how the lawnboys are different than other mowers other than that it's two stroke. There was a guy selling a whole bunch of mowers and I bought two non-working lawnboys for I think $40. It was a while ago though so I don't remember it well.

Threw them both in the jungle behind the shed thinking "I'll have a look at them one day." Pulled them out of there today and put some gas mix in, I can't believe one started and runs even quite nice! 😮 I honestly couldn't believe it!

This other one needs some work as the pull cord doesn't turn the engine. I'm intrigued by its 6.5 HP two stroke though :D

Mystery solved on the pull cord. Only one of the ratchet hooks found, and slightly broken housing.

Eugene . Those old lawn boys have a die cast aluminum deck which were lighter than steel decks and seem to clear clippings better . The 2 stores made good power . Lots of parts still available .If you can't find what you need bring the recoil over the next time you are my way, I may have something that will work .

Thanks Dave! Indeed they are light, on the other hand they need to be pushed so you keep in shape. I can imagine a two stroke 6.5 HP is quite powerful for such a small machine. I'll try to make the missing clip somehow and see if it runs. I'll bring it by if nothing works.
