Dave, I used screen door latches on mine...At top and bottom I added spring latches because the 3/16" lexan (polycarbonate) had some flex.

Harry, I converted to the 19 tooth sprocket several years on my M84 caster which is used on my 446. The tractor handled it with no problem, and I gained throwing distance. About the same time I had the rubber "auger paddles" which helped, and I cut four extra teeth (2 each side) on the chu...

Like Gordy said, sometimes down pressure helps when tilling, but I I like the down pressure on my J26 3pt when I install the rear wheel weights for Fall and Winter. I put jack stands under the 3pt (with F27 adapter) to raise the rear wheels so I can rotate them and fasten the weights.

Noel and Eugen - I know, I know. Yes John Deere weights. Here are the JD H78062 Combine Weights on the back wheels, sand blasted, primered and painted Power Red.

This is what I have for my 446. Four JD 42 lb suitcase weights. Approximately 168 lbs The bracket is made so it will carry 1,2,3 or 4 weights, depending on the task.

I have used this one since Feb 2017, especially in the winter. It keeps battery charged and tractor starts good. I tend not to use it in the warm weather so much.
