Re: The good the bad and the ugly
Recent post got me to thinking . What do thing was the best engine " of it's time " NO wrong answers here this is just based on peoples experiences. Me personally think the Onan P220 - proven block design, reliable ignition system , ample power without being too fuel hungry. with routine ...

Re: How many years you got with Case tractors?!
I grew up on Simplicity, my father still runs a Simplicity and an Allis Chalmers. I bought my first house and land in 93 and needed a garden tractor. On a Saturday morning I set out to go look at a couple of used JD's at a nearby dealer. One was 5 the other 10 years old, :O :40: OMG talk about stick...

Re: The Fluids Debate
I'm in the third winter of switching over to switching over to running synthetic in my small engines. The three Onan's and 23hp Kohler have been starting easy and doing well on 5w-40 Rotella T-6. This fall after doing the hydraulic work on the 448 I also used the 5w40 t6 in the hydraulic system. So ...

Re: Needs a project??
Impressive for sure . I envision a 3 cylinder diesel, rad and battery in the middle , fuel and hydraulic tank in the front , driver in the rear for weight distribution . 3 x 200 series axles plumbed in series and locked in low gear . Lets see , I have a 3 cylinder Perkins , varial output pump , 1 x...

Re: The weather
@Timj , I was going to post something similar about the performance of my snowcaster. The last two winters have convinced me no need for a two stage. My first few seasons with a snowcaster were quite aggravating. But there were many things to blame, the engine, the clutch, the belt, the old bearing...

Re: The weather
@Timj, 8 gallons of gas, that is really impressive. Talk about seat time eh? But yeah, you gotta do what you gotta do. I filled up my tank too, and gone through some of it, not empty yet. One more round this morning needed. The Onan's pretty thirsty when it is getting worked. It ran for 5hrs, proba...

Re: The weather
We got to+4 from -4 this morning. That's cold for you @JSinMO.🥶 It was a good day to hibernate. @DavidBarkey we ended up with about a foot, don't really know because the last part of the snow blew around so much. But with Tuesdays it's knee deep. We don't get lake effect so looks like nothing till ...
