Re: New to the forums
Heck Harry, She had seen me put a loft into my 32x48 machine shed in order to gain floor space so I could put her stuff up there. I had 8 Case Ingersoll tractors, several 48" mower decks, 3 60" mower decks, 2 tillers, Leaf sucker with trailer, 1 blade, 2 snow throwers, one cab on the floor...

Re: New to the forums
Welcome to the site Leland! I just got back from being in Florida for a week. I flew from Grand Rapids a week earlier to Jacksonville to see the new Grandson and came back Saturday evening to Grand Rapids. I thought of you before flying out, thinking someday it might be nice to meet you. Grand Rapid...

Re: inner child
If I remember correctly, I never could hit anything with a sling shot, either. Bought a few when we were on a vacation, now and then, but made a few, also. Between my 2 brothers and I we were always trying something out that created havoc! We broke a lot of old tools, appliances, and other things. ...

Re: Tilling with an Ingersoll 4118D
They can have a gear replaced to make the center drive tiller run faster. My side drive tiller runs a lot faster than the center drive tiller did. In some past discussions on the old site somebody told how to go about making the center drives run faster, and apparently it was a gear change.

Re: Tilling with an Ingersoll 4118D
I have been happy with either one. I used my center drive tiller for 27 years, so obviously not too upset at it. My FIL thought his John Deere tiller was built heavier than mine (John Deere 400 and tiller with PTO shaft drive), and it is. He thought his would last longer. All I can say is that when ...

Re: Tilling with an Ingersoll 4118D
I see he is pushing the tractor with the tiller now and then. Happens with my 448, also with the center drive tiller. It even happens some with the side drive tiller. It isn't as difficult to till deep with the side drive tiller, because it is heavier, and you don't have the gear case going under th...

Re: Boy Scouts
Actually I should have spelled it the following way: DeMolay. A young mans organization sponsored by the Masonic Lodge. They took as their namesake a man from France by the name of Jacques DeMolay who was burned at the stake after serving the church honorably in the Crusades. The King of France was ...

Re: Boy Scouts
Started with the Cub Scouts. Various women were the leaders, some better than others. We kind of followed whatever my older brother was into. We didn't have Boy Scouts in the immediate area, so went 4H route until half way thru high school. Actually finished high school/early college involved in Dem...

Re: Selling your stuff!
I had a couple of Anvils, so I decided to sell the smaller one 50 lbs. I looked different places and seen they were going in the $200 range for a smaller one like mine. So I put a $300 price tag on it and bang my phone blew up. A local guy came and bought it and a few other small tools I had laying...
