Re: Anybody have experience with old Gensets?
I think they are worth putting a bit of time into. They are not as popular now as they once were for running power tools with the influx of battery operated tools.

Re: I got hurt. (Sorry if this is a little graphic)
Jeff, Like others I can relate to having stiches in the same area almost 40 years ago and have a nice centipede scar to prove it. My thoughts are also the ignition switch or that all of the wires leading to the switch might be bundled or wrapped together for neatness. If wrapped together and wire in...

Re: Did the 446 just dodge a bullet?
If it doesn't happen again , or get worse, we may never know what caused the 446 seize up. 25 years ago we had a Toro/Honda snowblower. At last time of use, end of season, the gas was emptied and engine run until the carb was dry, then with engine warm, the oil was drained. I don't remember my reaso...

Did the 446 just dodge a bullet?
Last fall, at the end of gardening season and when weeds were at ther peak, the 446 was used to mow them down. 20230609_151810.jpg It worked the unit hard but shouldn't have been a problem. While moving a rock pile the 446 was left idling. Much to my chagrin, after several minutes of idling, the mot...

How Kelly and Merri met
In early March a :446cart: Case trailer showed up on FB marketplace that was overpriced. It was an 1-1/2 away from me but a buddy's sister lived 15 minutes from the seller. I reached out to the seller and found the price negotiable. Next I texted my buddy in Toronto (an hour from me) and ask him if ...

Re: Old Time Shop Projects - Popular Mechanics/Popular Science
I remember well the days of going to the mailbox and waiting intently for the Popular Mechanics issue to arrive. We dreamed of making a pontoon boat like in the PM magazine. It was powered by an R Moline tractor. The tractors rear wheels were reworked as paddle wheels and the tricycle front end beca...

Unloaded like a pro.
Gave it a bit of a knudge to slide it down then drove out from under. I love it when a good plan comes together- Tue Apr 02, 2024 5:47 pm

Re: Pictures: this moment
I don't need another project laying around but a friend gave me 400 square feet of plastic lumber. I can't look a gift horse in the mouth.
It was an ugly looking load to haul an hour home. Good thing I don't have any pride.
