Re: 446 blower tractor project

Awesome details on your build - Thanks! I've made so many mental notes of good ideas to incorporate on my 446 - I really like the way your cab looks !

Re: Hole in hydraulic oil cooler

Good to hear you've got it licked... Rubber hose and clamps or did you go with JB Weld?

The cooler on my 446 is the same style - when I'm out in the tent garage tomorrow I'm going to pull the screws and look at mine...

Re: The weather

Our rain turned to snow sometime in the wee hours of the morning - not much accumulation, not sure whether to use the shovel or the push broom on the sidewalk out front - Thinking maybe I'll go back to school for a fourth career and become a meteorologist - can't think of another job where I can be ...

Re: Hole in hydraulic oil cooler

That rod should do the job, - one of the issues I found with welding / brazing something like an oil cooler or hyd tank was residual oil could creep into the joint when the base metal heats up and prevent a 100% seal with no pinholes. You are on track for a short term fix - rubber hose, slit lengthw...

Re: Brakes - What about using cable operated parking brakes? A long time ago some off-roaders would add a 2nd park brake handle and run individual cables back to the rear wheels - "cutting brakes" were handy for tight turns in the bush or stopping a spinning tire if you didn't want the exp...

Re: Raven's Roost - adventures in the woods

Looks like you picked a good spot! I hope the construction process goes as smoothly as possible for you guys. I’ve never had to deal with use restrictions on private land. Even though it is not advisable, you can build in the floodplain here if you choose too. In your case are you just restricted f...
