I'm so ashamed

My name is Tim, I come here with my head hung low. I'm so embarrassed and ashamed to admit, I have been cheating on my Ingy  Please don't look too down on me :( . I am truly sorry. If you have to throw me out of the club, I understand. This is our New Holland 1510 KIMG0143.JPG It's nic...

Re: Restoration or parts? Ingersoll 4118

While there are issues with the hydraulically driven decks and snowcasters this would make an excellent tilling plowing or dozing tractor. Would hate to see it parted out being a semi-rare model as well. Bob I agree with you, Bob, they are a beast of a tractor. The bigger pump and cooler and power ...

Re: Cold Weather Starting??

Another issue with cold starting is the cold cranking amp rating of the battery. There are several versions of the U1 Lawn and Garden Battery. Buying on price point will get you a 230CCA at a box store and will crank an Onan in the summer. It will not even click the relay if setting out side at fre...

Re: Restoration or parts? Ingersoll 4118

Picking up a 4118 minus motor this today. It is a hurting unit. It is either a parts tractor or restoration project. 4118.png Like I need another project. Spike I have a 4118, bought it new in 1994, been a good machine, but they have some issues that may sway your decision to part or restore. How y...

Re: Cold Weather Starting??

We're right next to Lake Huron. It think we're in the same boat. I don't remember what oil I put in the 226. Either 15w40 or straight 30. But I can't stand old oil in anything I own. It must've been fresh. Just to test, I'd rule out the oil by running 0w40. If it solved the problem clearly it was t...

Re: Cold Weather Starting??

That rolled over like mine does on a warm day :o . Single digit F. would be common there. At home we rarely get much snow at low temps, but three hours north we are getting into the Superior snow belt and if the wind is right, it snows even below zero. Would probably be going to lighter oil. Thought...

Cold Weather Starting??

I thought I'd throw this out as some here deal with some seriously cold weather too. So, how cold are you starting your tractor at? Do you have it in a heated shop? Is one engine better than another? My Onan in my 4118 has always been a tough starter the colder it gets. Not a big deal at home, can p...

Re: Forum News

I think it's all going to come together. A little time to get "out there" will help. Once it starts coming up in goggle searches it will come.🤞
You've been a busy guy.

Re: Introduction of Harry

Hi guys, Yes I burn that much rod at work welding well casing. That much would not be a hobby for me.😵 Eugen A spot in shop talk might work too. I'm good at what I do but a narrow skill set. Harry and Gordy are much more versed.👍👍 Great guys, always looking to help. Gordy, Great story. Gas welding a...

Re: Introduction of Harry

Hi Harry,
Nice to see you here too. You'll have to share some of your metal art. What's your go to home welder/process?
I'm mainly a stick guy, 5-6 hundred pounds of rod a year. Little bit of wire. I'm amazed by tig, should go learn some new stuff someday.
