Has anyone welded the two back motor mount bolts to the frame? Seems like a easy way to install the nuts o...

Re: Shield head baffle?

Topic of heat shields I know the heat shields are imported but I see a lot of Onan's without the left side metal. Do you think with having it on it holds more heat on the motor or it helps move the air out from the motor?

Shield head baffle?

Just going through part manual and seen a LH shield head baffle extension. c-311415. I have owned a few 3018 and 4020's and they didn't have the baffles on them. Should they have ?

Re: Onan P218

I decarb and set values, now motor turns over with spark and fuel and backfires. But does not run. Not sure that I turned the motor clockwise when setting values. Could that be the problem? When setting values I set them at BTC should I've set them at 20 degrees? Still have the issue with starting....

Motor mount bolts

I found when putting motor back in 3018 to spot weld the rear motor mount bolts. That keeps them in place, so you don't have to try line up the bolt, washer, nut and use tools under the frame. The bolt should be about 7/8" from the top of frame to top of bolt in order to clear lower flywheel ho...
