Re: Case cylinder question.
If the 648 steer cylinder is like the 6018 then when you rebuild it, replace the nut on the end of the rod that holds the piston assy together in the cylinder. There have been many of use with that nut coming loose and causing possible cylinder damage. This had happened to mine. Nut loosened up and...

Re: I need some advice on backhoe operation.
I've put my 6018 through some pain. Pulled around 75 large stumps with it. Some I didn't think I was going to get them out of the hole. But it grunted through it all. Will not ever sell this thing. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220511/2706748200e76a3606f7861d37da49c4.jpg https://uploads.tapata...

Re: I need some advice on backhoe operation.
From mine own experience normal digging with the hoe was no problem as long as I didn't dig up something hidden. I've dug a bit around my property and have not found much as far as rocks or boulders. One time I did try to dig out some Spruce tree stumps by digging around them. I was not too success...

Re: Case cylinder question.
Thanks guys! I check our local shops. I’ll update this when I have some new info. It might be a bit, springtime always leaves me with a lot of irons in the fire!

Re: Case cylinder question.
Many of the case cylinders are quite simple in design. Will have to take a look in the parts manual. A hydraulic shop should have O-rings and seals. @myerslawnandgarden Bob is our resident dealer here and may chime in. His online store is casegardentractorparts.com  There is also Brian fr...

Case cylinder question.
The last few days I’ve been “digging air” with the 648 to get a better feel for it. The advice you guys gave me was on the money! You really have to have a light touch on the main boom and swing controls. 44B9377E-27FE-4808-B407-E2EB4EEA738D.jpeg Just practicing when I can I’ve already gotten smooth...
