Re: Plasma cutter

Eugen, you've impressed me as usual. Very nicely done. On a separate note, I recently replaced the handpiece/torch on my Cut50 plasma cutter with the "pilot arc" type. It essentially integrates it's own ground into the cone/tip, so when you pull the trigger it instantly becomes a little mi...

Re: Subsoiler/ripper attachment

Well I had a bit of time today and the weather permitted, so I got started on my trench. The ripping bar installed in literally seconds. Then I adjusted the top link to get a strong backward rake. I later dialled that back about halfway, it seems to to do better that way. image.png image.png image.p...

Re: Case D100 backhoe

Again great points made, and my design is evolving a bit further. At first I planned to make the "trailer" tongue "as long as possible" as i mentioned, to give leverage to the "small" weight of the tractor's back end. Then I decided to intentionally make the tongue out ...

Re: Case D100 backhoe

Good and helpful observations from you both. I'll be sure to incorporate some kind of ground-engaging cleats on all four ground pads. Maybe I can get clever like Case did and make flippable outrigger feet, one side with cleats the other with a smooth pad. The other direction I'm thinking is that for...

Re: Case D100 backhoe

great minds think alike? Because I'm thinking along similar lines with the 3pt hitch bar. Looking at towable backhoes on youtube, most of them set up for a 4-point stance for digging: the two outriggers at the hoe end and some kind of fixed resting pads at the hitch end. So I'm thinking of that appr...

Re: Case D100 backhoe

So... I haven't made any progress since June. It's getting where I don't really recall the full details of precisely what I planned to do. It's not that I think I can't do it. It's that I haven't yet gotten real clarity/comfort on precisely what to do next. So I'm thinking about admitting a measure ...

Re: Christmas 2023: What do you wish for?

I'm wishing for a Vevor mag drill with a five-piece set of annular cutters. And seeing as how I ordered it. And it's way too heavy for the wife to wrap it... I kind of have inside information that I might actually get it. 😂 But what I'm really excited about is the presence I've gotten to buy and mak...

Subsoiler/ripper attachment

When I moved into this house 15 yrs ago, it had a switch in the kitchen that turned on a barn light hanging from a tree down by the road. So years ago I tapped into that line as it runs up the tree and installed an outlet. That way I have a nice power supply for my Christmas lights down by the road....

Re: Tools we all need.

Thanks Dave. I'll give it a go as soon as soon as I'm back in the vegetable juice business. For now I'm rocking sort of a keto diet, fewer than 20 grams of carbs per day, and that much tomato juice would blow it for me. I've been doing it since mid-July, and I've lost 22 lbs, so I'm about halfway th...
