Re: Onan intake valve seat

I remembered the name of what they needed to do! It is called staking the valve seat. And, to be properly staked the valve seat has to sit a bit deeper into the block. It is then the block material that gets moved to cover the top edge of the valve seat. Some engines use valve stakes a bone stock en...

Re: What would you do?

I have a 1975 646 that is mostly in good shape, except for the few things that are not and are the opposite of peaceful. I have a perfectly good new short block; all I have to do to the new block is match the crankshafts. The carb will need to be rebuilt. It did start and run well. The engine just h...

What would you do?

I was first known on the forums as ssmewing, and then later, I became Hemlock Case Guy. So, as Hemlock Case Guy, I have fixed an endless line of tractors. Most were no quotes, but I will tell you how it is going. I call it going down the rabbit hole. But, you truly can have no idea what you are goin...

Re: Marketplace rant

Marketplace has wrecked so much of what once was a Craigslist domain. You are certainly right about finding parts. I believe you could be told what exactly is the most sold item on Marketplace, and if you were to do a search verbatim for that item, you would get at most three items that are close to...

Re: resizing carb linkage

The link between the govn. and carb had a some ware . Here is my fix . 20230129_151828.jpg20230129_152748.jpg20230129_153707.jpg20230129_153743.jpg This was on a Onan but would work on anything . Your linkage is worn much more than I have seen before. Was the engine hunting for several years? That ...

Re: Onan intake valve seat

I'm still in awe at what this guy tried to pull. I'm disappointed I let it sit with him this long and continued to let him practice damaging my engine. He denied dropping the engine on the ground. Said he hit it with a hammer. Caught him in multiple lies. Said he did another Intake valve seat on an...

Re: Ez Adjust Clutch

I did see that posting on the other site from Robinhood. :peace: Harry Maybe copy and paste this in a PM from you and a nobody. Using my name may get you in trouble. Otherwise, you read it. He is about to spend a lot of money. Try to talk him into going back to a regular 1/2" nut so that the t...

Re: Ez Adjust Clutch

The EZ-Adjust clutch is EZ. The instruction manual from Case is well written. Things have forever gone wrong when people use parts that are not in that little bag or whatever has the part number on it. This part was from Case, which makes it 100% correct. In this case, the part is 129-125. The parts...

Ez Adjust Clutch

Even though I was booted from the old site, I can still read it. Robinhood is on there and has been having trouble with his clutch. I'm sorry. Some of the advice may be from others on here, too. Some are dealers, and I know they most likely have more experience. But I am not normal. You probably are...

Re: Ever felt you are unheard?

The high prices started on Facebook Marketplace. A select few sellers often parted out tractors and priced them very high. Often the parts were in decent shape, which was good, but not enough to warrant the price. This led to everyone with ratted-out accessory's to start posting their stuff at that ...
