Re: Vanguard 12.5HP/14HP/16HP/18HP carburetor cleaning
Briggs can be very finicky and a pain. They to start they are extremely under fueled and run borderline lean when in good shape and from new.... It takes very little to make them unhappy as far as dirt and or bad fuel/water etc. We have most parts in stock including new OEM carbs, pumps, gaskets et...

Re: Vanguard 12.5HP/14HP/16HP/18HP carburetor cleaning
Have you put a new kit into the carb and have you checked the intake and carb base gaskets? Are you removeing the jets to clean them and the passage ways ?image.png This picture shows the exploded diagram . David I removed the main jet and attempted to clean the main jet and every passage way I cou...

Re: Vanguard 12.5HP/14HP/16HP/18HP carburetor cleaning
So back to this stupid problem. Last fall I pulled the engine apart, cleaned the debris from the engines cooling fins, took the carb apart and tried to do a good cleaning. I actually attempted cleaning it several times to make sure it was good and clean. I put it all back together and the tractor st...

Marketplace rant
So I'm not a big fan of marketplace for finding tractor parts. Search functions terrible at finding anything. Every time I search I have to reset the search criteria. Its just terrible. Using the "-" operator on any other sites search function removes that search term... but not on faceboo...

Re: RM48 deck belt routing improvement
Looking great, Matt, and very well written up. Easy to follow, even with limited tools. Bob Thanks for the angle iron bracket idea. I tried out an A97 belt I has also ordered. Its slightly easier to put on but My tensioner is approaching the end of its adjustment range. The tensioner threads are al...

Re: RM48 deck belt routing improvement
Limited progress today due to work/kids. I trimmed the bracket where the 1/2" socket wrench is inserted. Also trimmed where the spring was contacting the bracket. I may trump this spot a little more.

Re: RM48 deck belt routing improvement
Bob the original thread starter mentioned he used a square file to create the square holes for the carriage bolts. Having created a 3/8" square hole with a needle file in the past (only file I had small enough to fit in a 3/8" hole), I took the 20min trip to harbor freight and bought a squ...

Re: RM48 deck belt routing improvement
Finally got around to modifying my RM48 belt drive. Just didn't get there last year with the little kids. Anyways it's a work in progress. Since I don't own a welder, I made my own bracket and made it adjustable. I intended the bracket to be flipped around 180 degrees but since there wasn't enough r...
