Re: New toy for Grandpa

Yes the deck in front flips up for cleaning and servicing the blades. They do sell a 54” rear discharge deck which I considered but decided against it when the dealer explained the blades are gear timed and the 54” deck one blade turns CW and the other CCW. This aids the rear discharge.

This one has a 48” deck and like you mentioned Bob easy to drive. The dealer gave me the drive by training and I played with it in their parking lot. The backed ip unto my trailer and brought it home. It will take me a few times to master driving it though. I liked the easy to drive and bagger ...

That's a later model than any we had, although not much changed except the engine offerings.

What engine does that one have ...

Re: starter drive sticking

Dave,

This is a bit of information more as an FYI and will probably raise more questions, but here goes.

Years back, Onan did have a Performer engine spec'd to replace the 446/448 engines and sold it as a P218G/10936H.

As noted, the B43/48M series starters bolted to the oil base and were a major ...

The Onan Performer replacement for the 446//448 tractors did not use a solenoid shift starter due to it being mounted on the opposite side and interfering with the hydraulic lines to the heat exchanger. I wonder if a better option for you would be to use the conventional starter motor with a ...
