Re: Selling a 226
Great deal for some close by, the TCV with integrated holding valve is worth your asking price, and then you have a steering wheel that brings $100 used.
Of course, I wouldn't be inclined to part it out as my nature is to fix things. Grandpa always told me "if a man built it, a man can fix it ...

Re: The weather
Here in Northern Il things aren't that much different. Mother said tonight that the year was almost half over and my response was that there have only been a handful of decent days so far and in a few months we are trapped inside again.

Matt,
That's the bracket that we always install, heavier duty and a quick bolt-in repair. I've always felt the the early design was a weak point and by reinstalling ...

Re: Kohler 331 ?
Seems that the K331 was produced in the late 50's to early 60's, I have never seen one. A google search references it being used in the Economy garden tractors.
The biggest thing that I see that will be a problem is the fact that this engine has the 2 quart oil base. That raises the crankshaft ...

Re: garden prep
Dave,
Interesting, your soil must drain well. Here in Northern Illinois I've only seen a couple of farmers out in the field and only one planting corn. Saw a couple posts from sweet corn farmers that had planted, but they always push the envelope as the first ones with corn for sale wins.

Nice work, Harry!
I can only imagine what a vice like that would cost new today.

Re: Low pressure return line hose replacement
Thanks Bob. Hardly seems worth looking on Amazon. Do you know approximately when Ingersoll started adding the hydraulic reservoir sleeve inserts (C42540 and C33167)? My tractor was built in 2001.
I'd like to get C48415 battery tray on order. Does this come with install instructions or is it ...

Re: Low pressure return line hose replacement
The C14619 4" hoses are standard 3/4" single cloth braid with a 300 LB working pressure. $5.09 ea from Ingersoll, if you are going to purchase in a bulk length to save a buck, beware of Amazon sellers as there is a lot of 150 LB hose that looks the same. Just make sure what you're buying.
