Some of the trouble with some drivers in my area is, they get their winter tires on, some put studs in, some have 4 wheel drive on top of that. So they then think they are driving on dry warm pavement, they zoom along like they are still in the same daze as in the summer. They for get they still have to stop. They still find the ditches, smack in to other vehicles, slide thru intersections and you name it. I’m not saying that winter tires, studs and four wheel drive don’t help. It surly does. But not for the people in the daze.

Just my ramble. And don’t be in a daze while driving at any time of year.

We had that in WI last week, Thursday we were mid to upper 70's, Friday we didn't get above freezing, I had ice freezing on the drill rig all afternoon. What a shock to the system. :114:
We hit 17°F the other night... just a few days after being in the 70's. We did escape the snow storm that came through the northeast corridor last night. Changed over to rain about a half hour west of here.

8” to 12” of snow is a major storm here, and that happens fairly regularly, but we get a lot more 3” to 6” events. I’m like you @Eugen I run 1 set of the cheapest all terrain tires I can get all year long. When they wear our I get a new set, never had a problem. @Propane57 You hit the nail on the head! My truck is 4x4 but you could be driving a tank and your still not gonna stop it your going faster than conditions dictate! See it here all the time. Someone has a 4x4 sticker on the side of their vehicle and go flying past me, a couple mile up the road there they are in the ditch!
I went for a long time without 4 wheel drive and always got around, but I have to admit it’s sure nice to have.

@JSinMO Yup, that 4x4 or AWD sticker gives them the Superman complex.

Just saw similar things on the weather channel. It looks miserable around Buffalo. They were showing a lot of people stuck on the roads tonight. I feel bad for them.

I want no part of that. I’m glad we don’t get rive effect snow around here!

I didn't expect this much snow here either. Fortunately the snow caster is ready for it. :)

I'm North of Buffalo and the south towns area where they get the snow. It just started snowing about an hour ago at my house and it supposed to snow all day. I was watching the weather channel last night and some places south of me are buried. Like the blizzard of 77 it all depends on the wind direction. In Niagara County back then we got buried also.
Keep the :peace: :cop:
