Grass cuttin today.
With the Case 224. Worked great. Gadget specs are, .9 of an hour to do the grass. Hydraulic system oil 122F, out side temperature 62F. 2700 rpm while cutting grass. To bad it doesn’t show volts.
Head lights on because in Canada, you have to have your daytime running lights on, you never know when you’ll meet an on coming garden tractor mower in your own yard.

Re: Grass cuttin today.
Noel - 2700rpms seems a bit low to cut your lawn. You should be up around 3600rpms. When the rpms get too low, the cutting blades can tear through the grass blades leaving the grass tips stringy. The tips turn yellow and loose more moisture. Same thing that happens with dull blades.
Tractors look great. Do the knobby front tires rip up the lawn?

No troubles with the front tires. Ya I know the rpms should higher. But it works fine like that. I don’t have that great of lawn any way. 1/2 weeds.

Saves on gas
I haven't mowed my complete lawn in 3 to 4 weeks. It's been so dry that two weeks ago I mowed about 1/3 that was still green and needed to be cut.

Cut the grass again. Only 20 or so to go.
No grass on top of the deck. But grass was sorta dry and was not very long. A little greenery in the grill Temp of the drive oil today was 122F. Outside temperature 20C (68F) I think. Left engine running at about 2000 rpm while blowing off the deck and cooler, engine and every thing else. Backed the tractor in garage and drive oil was down to 113 F.

Re: Grass cuttin today.
Just finished cutting the grass. Drive oil temperature at the start was 71F. At the end of cutting was 126F. Left it run at 2000 rpm while I blew the very little dirt and grass of it. That was about 10 minutes or so to get hose, blow off the tractor and deck and put the hose back. Backed into the garage and drive oil temperature was 117F. Temperature today was 77F.
Grass was long today.
So not to bad I don’t think. Your thoughts.

Next time I cut with the 4118 I'll try to get a temp for comparison and then the 448.propane1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 5:39 pm Just finished cutting the grass.
