Rebuilding an old alternator

Post by Eugen »

This is the 24V alternator from the Case 680E backhoe. I had fixed it but when I worked on it many months ago there was a rebuild kit on eBay and I bought it as I didn't know if my fix was going to be successful.

The time came to rebuild it though.
The old Delco Remi, a very popular model even today, the closest being the 10SI.

Off came the pulley and fan.

Let's take q pic of the old configuration in case I have to go back to it.

Out comes the rotor.

With new internals, including bearings, it was time for a test

Glad it was rebuildable. That checks another box on the 680! Your to do list is getting shorter! Not sure what you have left to repair on it but it about ready for some heavy work! :highfive:
