I'll go you one better, Noel. Ours stayed in the living room all year, just not plugged in. We're just doing a little fake tree this year, not really going to be doing anything thing here for Christmas and the kids aren't coming home till the week after. My family is doing the Saturday before at Dad's, wife's family the Saturday after, so we might just go to the cabin for a few days.
A friend of a friend has a Christmas closet in their living room. Their tree stays decorated and rolls in and out of the closet.

Nothing special here. Just a long string of lights along the drive. The first year they were about 4ft off the ground. Dumb idea, deer ran through them after turning them off at night.
