If I can’t cook any thing while hurricane Lee is going through, I figured I’d make supper tonite. And make lots.

Looks Tasty Noel! - Reminds me of being in a friends kitchen while they prepared a "Jiggs Dinner" for my birthday years ago... We hadn't had real "Newfie" feast before - The kitchen, the whole house smelled amazing, and I was sooooo stuffed afterwards :)

Sounds great Gerry. That sure would be good. Jiggs dinner, yum. Two plate fulls please. Hehe. Homemade bread, biscuits and molasses. Holy cats, that would be good.

Dang Noel that looks good! You could almost talk me into riding out a hurricane for some of that!

I don’t know what all goes into a Jiggs dinner but you guys made me hungry, now I have to go to the kitchen! :D

"Jiggs Dinner" is a traditional Newfoundland boiled dinner - Served for Sunday Dinner or other "Special" occasions - Similar to a "New England Boiled Dinner" or a St Patrick's day "Irish" Dinner with a lot more good stuff added :)

In one pot boil... salt beef or corned beef brisket, potatoes, parsnips, carrots, and cabbage. To make sure no one leaves the table hungry it's often combined with a roast chicken or duck -

It's a feast to be sure, but don't forget the split peas pudding b'y! Fish and brewis is some good eating too. Can't wait to get back out to the rock again one day, and enjoy the other eastern provinces along the way.

Noel hope you and everyone out that way are safe and it's not too bad of a storm this time.
